Competitive inhibition: Vmax stays, Km rises

Competitive inhibitors fight the substrate for the same site. Apparent Km gets larger; Vmax stays the same if enough substrate can still flood the site. On a Lineweaver–Burk plot the lines share the vertical intercept.
